Summary Description:
The marine environmental scientist will have a solid knowledge base of coastal and marine policy and planning, and biological, physical, and earth scientific analysis.
Responsibilities:
Tasks will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Manage and assist with projects that are primarily in coastal, marine, and other waterfront environments
- Complete environmental impact assessments, regulatory feasibility assessments, and other technical analyses
- Perform environmental studies and prepare/review technical documentation
- Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Marine Science, Biology, Oceanography, GIS, Remote Sensing, or related field, and a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience
- Demonstrate ability to work independently within general guidelines and direction
- Demonstrate history of self-motivation and use of problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations
Preferred:
- Knowledge of and experience with environmental science
- Experience working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
