Jackson and Tull (J&T)
began in 1974 as a civil engineering company specializing in the
structural design of buildings. Examples of projects in the Washington,
DC (DC) region include: the historic Metropolitan AME Church;
Prince George’s Plaza Subway Station, Parking Garage and
Line Segment; and the new Washington Convention Center. In subsequent
years, J&T grew to provide design, inspection and program
management services in the area of Civil Infrastructure, i.e.,
bridges, highways, transit systems, water supply and wastewater
treatment. Examples of projects in the Washington, DC region include:
Southwest Freeway Bridge over the Washington Channel; Whitehurst
Freeway Bridge; various projects for the DC Water and Sewer Authority
(DC-WASA); and various projects for the Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission (WSSC). Examples of projects in the New York City region
include: the Manhattan Bridge, the Williamsburg Bridge and the
Queens Midtown Viaduct Bridge.
In 1987, Jackson and Tull began providing engineering and technical services
to the civilian aerospace industry. The initial project was to
design and build a Robotics Laboratory at NASA’s Goddard
Space Flight Center located in the Washington, DC region. Building
on this opportunity, J&T expanded its services to include
flight hardware design and fabrication, Integration and Test (I&T)
and System Engineering for major NASA satellite programs including
the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), Tropical Rainforest Measurement
Mission (TRMM) and X-ray Timing Explorer (XTE). Today, J&T
supports HST as well as many other NASA missions such as SDO (Solar
Dynamics Observatory), STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory)
and GLAST (Gamma ray Large Area Space Telescope) from our facilities
in Seabrook and Beltsville, Maryland. Our work spans the entire
life-cycle of satellite mission activities from conception through
on-orbit operations.
In 1994, Jackson and Tull established its office in Albuquerque, NM to support
National Security programs operated by the Air Force (AF) Research
Laboratory, AF Space and Missile Systems Center, AF Operational
Test and Evaluation Center, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Our National Security activities focus on the engineering, integration
and test (I&T), and demonstration of advanced technology applications
for developers and users. J&T’s expertise spans the
full range of requirements and hardware development at the component,
subsystem, and system levels for space, air and lighter-than air
vehicles, including their associated ground systems. Examples
include the J&T and successful flights of the MightySat I/II
and XSS-10/11 series of small satellite technology demonstrations.
Over the years, J&T has received numerous awards and citations for outstanding
service to our customers as well for our support of charitable
and civic organizations.
